Basic Cancer Truths – Pt. 2
Second, Cancer needs sugar to grow.
Some estimate that a cancer cell needs ten times more sugar than a normal cell. It sees sugar and grabs it like cellular pig. If you can limit the amount of sugar that is available you should be limiting on some level the growth of the cancer colony.
My research lead me to at least five reasons for the sugar cancer problem.
One – The Bond Factor
Cancer cells crave sugars and by that I include things like refined carbohydrates such as refined sugar, white flour, and high fructose corn syrup, etc. All of these are treacherous ingestions for anyone wanting to block having cancer or suppress cancer.
These sugars are enablers of tumors and supports cancer growth. Cancer cells gobbles up sugar at a rate 10-12 times that of healthy cells. Dr. Otto Warburg found that cancer cells metabolize energy different as compared to normal/healthy cells.
Two – There is The Acid Factor
Warburg also found, as we have mentioned before, that cancers cells need an acidic environment. Sugar turns out to be very acidic. With a pH of about 6.4, it is 10 times more acidic than the ideal alkaline pH of blood at 7.4. Can you see the danger of sugars.
Three – The Immune System Factor
Sugar depresses the phagocytosis immune response. One writer called the Pac-Man effect where the immune system consumes the problems. If you take in 10 teaspoons of sugar you will have a 50% less in phagocytosis response.
Think of all the refined sugars that you consume, on your pancakes, in your refined foods, in your beverages. They are putting sugars in everything nowadays. Think about your condiment and salad dressings. We are ringing the cancer dinner bell
with refined sugars all day.
It is estimated that in the United States in 2008, people were ingesting more than 60 pounds (28 kg) of added refined sugar per year, not including other natural sugars. That average to 76.7 grams per day, which equals 19 teaspoons.
Come and get it cancer. That is enough refined sugars to keep your immune system down 50% all day and the cancer cell, which it should be dealing with, well fed. Maybe we should stop full indulging cancer. ***
Four – The Activity Factor
Normally when you consume sugar, the pancreas releases insulin. In Australian researchers found that having these high levels of insulin, which also come with insulin-like growth factor (IGF), is a possible causative factor for cancers of the breast, prostate, endometrium and pancreas.
This is not surprising when you remember that tissues like breast tissue have insulin receptors and insulin is a powerful effector of cell growth. Studies in 21 countries around the world have established that sugar intake is a potent risk factor for higher breast cancer rates. In the Netherland, the National Institute of Public Health and Environmental Protection, the figures were shocking. The intaking of sugar was linked with double the risk of cancers and not just breast cancer.
Five – The Obesity Factor
Obviously we know that sugar intake adds to the fat factor, which obesity is a well documented cancer cause. Being overweight diminishes your survival expectation if you have cancer. It is estimated that in excess 100,000 cases of cancer every year are attributable to having too much body fat, so says the American Institute for Cancer Research.
Sugar Substitutes Are not really be discussed here but consider this. Good sugar substitutes like stevia (an all-natural herb from South America), barley malt, rice syrup, and palm sugar are available.. And there is the not so bad high-glycemic sweeteners like Sucanat, evaporated cane juice, molasses, honey and pure maple syrup are better than refined table sugar and such. Some say high fiber foods can help you avoid spikes in sugar level and diminises some of the above problems.
